Self Care at Home
We all get ill from time to time so keep your medicine cabinet stocked with essentials like pain killers, antihistamines, cold and flu remedies, anti-diarrhoea and indigestion medicine. If you have children, make sure you’ve got the right medicines according to their age. Before booking a minor illness appointment, please speak to your local pharmacist and try self care first. The Five Ways to Wellbeing activities are simple actions people can do in their everyday lives that can improve emotional health. All five of these suggestions are free, easily achievable and applicable to everyone’s life regardless of their circumstances. Many of us will already be doing some of the ‘5 ways’ some of the time without even being aware of it. Even small things can enhance wellbeing: whether it’s getting out and about, doing a good deed, or learning to do something new.
Mental Health Crisis Café
If you or someone you know needs urgent or crisis support with their mental health, Mind BLMK is here for you. Our Crisis Café will be operating remotely seven days a week, between 5pm – 11pm and can be contacted during these times via telephone on 01525 722 225.
If after the phone call it is decided that a face-to-face session would work best for you, this may be offered by one of our trained mental health workers.

Service Six has been granted some additional funding to provide online support to children, young people and parents during this crisis period. Service Six are a listening ear to support children and young people across Milton Keynes and guidance for parents on supporting their children with anxiety and worries. Smile:)MK is a programme of courses delivered by Adult Education (part of Community Learning MK) aimed at supporting adults aged 19 and above with mild to moderate depression, anxiety and/or sleep difficulties by providing access to various learning activities.
The service offers social, emotional and practical help to people who might be feeling lonely or anxious. Are you spending too much time on your own or maybe feeling a bit low because you struggle with some of life's daily challenges?
If you could use a bit of help to improve your everyday living this service has a friendly team of experienced staff ready to listen, talk things through and help you with any worries you may have.

Community led initiatives an organisation which provides a peer mentoring service to individuals who are in recovery. Through mentoring and group access they provide practical support and constructive activities to help people make positive lifestyle changes and work towards a positive and independent lifestyle beyond addiction.
